Mukesh Ambani joins $100-billion net worth club as RIL breaks record
With shares of Reliance Industries (RIL) closing at new all-time high levels on Thursday, Asia's wealthiest billionaire Mukesh Ambani became the latest member of the select group of business magnates with a net worth of at least $100 billion.
According to information from the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires List, the Chairman and Managing Director of RIL are estimated to have a combined net worth of $105.1 billion.
Ambani now holds the eleventh position on the world billionaire list. There are just 12 billionaires in the $100 billion club on the Forbes list.
Ambani's wealth has increased significantly in tandem with RIL shares' notable 5.4% rise during the last two trading sessions. After reaching a new high of Rs 2,724.95, the shares concluded the day 2.6% higher on the BSE at Rs 2,718.40.
RIL's market capitalization has surpassed the Rs 18 lakh crore barrier. The company separated its NBFC division, Jio Financial Services, last year.
